Ranks & Command.

The ranking structure of the Wisconsin State Police. Each rank comes with its own responsibilities and expectations.

Ranking information

  1. Cadet

    As a cadet, your priority is to attend a field training. Once completed, take the written test via this link. If you pass, your roles will be updated.

  2. Probationary Officer

    You are now a Probationary Officer. You must complete a 1-hour ride-along with any supervisor. You are NOT allowed to drive your own vehicle yet. Probationaries do not receive early access.

  3. Officer I

    Your job is to patrol the Wisconsin streets and ensure no crime goes unaddressed, from major crimes like robberies to minor traffic violations. You are the first line of response.

  4. Officer II

    You have proven yourself deserving of this rank. You now have access to more vehicles. Your responsibilities remain the same as Officer.

  5. Corporal

    You are under evaluation for Supervisor. Continue performing at the same level as the past two ranks while putting in extra effort to demonstrate you are ready for the next step.

  6. Supervisor

    As a Supervisor, your job is to ensure deputies are doing their job correctly. You may attach yourself to any scene where the primary officer is a WSP unit. You are a Field Training Officer: you have the ability to train cadets. You may also clock off officers of a rank below you if there is misconduct.

  7. Command Staff

    As a Command Staff member, you are permitted to moderate officers, review WSP applications, use undercover vehicles, and claim WSP report tickets. You should continue hosting training sessions.

  8. Administrative Staff

    Being a Senior Chain of Command member means you have shown the utmost dedication to WSP. You are responsible for ensuring the department operates smoothly, handling reports on CoC members, and maintaining order at the highest level.

Follow the Chain of Command at all times. You must work your way up in order. Failing to do so will result in no response.

Before contacting anyone, make use of #ticket-central. If there is no response within 2 hours, you may then proceed to contact a supervisor.

Department quota

Each month you are required to complete the hours specified for your rank. Failure to meet quota will result in an Activity Strike, and ongoing inactivity may lead to termination.
